Makeup Review: Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette

I don’t know about you, but I’m a huge fan of Urban Decay eye shadow palettes. As soon as I heard the announcement that there would be a new addition to the Naked series, I knew I had to snatch it up and give it a try. The palette retails for $54 and includes 12 shadows. I definitely had high expectations since I’ve gotten so much use out of their other products that I own, with the original Naked Palette being my favorite (I know, I’m basic AF lol).

The packaging is gorgeous and includes a nice sized mirror, which I love! There’s also a double sided brush included and it’s actually pretty good quality. The dome shaped end is great for using in the crease.

The colors at the left of the palette seem to be good for highlighting under the brows.

The main lid colors at the middle are just as fiery as you would expect, given the name. They’re very high shimmer colors that will be perfect for creating beautiful glowing looks year round.

Finally, the colors at the end make for great crease colors to pull the looks together. They’re dark enough for a nice smoky effect and can easily transition your looks from day to night.

Here are swatches for the more pigmented colors (i.e., the ones that would show up on my skin lol!) starting with Lumbre (the 5th shadow from the left). This is swatched on bare skin with no primer added.

I’m pretty pleased with the color options and have been using this almost daily since I purchased it. I will say the one drawback is that the shadows seem to be SUPER powdery compared to previous palettes. It leaves a bit more fall out than I would like. Overall, I would give it a solid B.

Have you tried this palette? Let me know what your thoughts are!

Until later….

  1. Omg, these colors are absolutely gorgeous. I keep putting this palette in my shopping cart on sephora’s site but I never check out because it’s so pricey. Lol
